A sidelined member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Thursday provided an insight into the extent of his injury.
The player in question? Dani Ceballos.
Spanish international Ceballos, of course, took his place front and centre in the headlines in Madrid earlier this week.
As much came after word was forthcoming that the former Arsenal man is primed for an incoming spell on the treatment table.
After being forced into a premature departure from Real’s La Liga victory over Real Betis, ensuing medical tests confirmed that Ceballos had suffered ‘a grade III sprain with ligament damage to his right ankle’.
The 28-year-old is expected to spend the next five to eight weeks on the sidelines, a considerable blow to an already-depleted midfield setup at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, Ceballos himself has moved to provide Los Blancos’ supporters with an inside look at the extent of his injury.
In a photo unveiled on social media, the Spaniard revealed the nasty swelling and bruising which currently surrounds his right ankle:
