Paulo Dybala has had a remarkable impact at AS Roma since his arrival in the summer of 2022.
Arriving on a free transfer from Juventus- after Jose Mourinho persuaded him to move to the Italian capital, the Argentine forward has become the club’s talisman, producing stellar performances consistently this season.
The 29-year-old, who was also part of La Albiceleste’s World Cup-winning squad, has racked up 13 goals and eight assists while helping Giallorossi become a top-four contender in Serie A and progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
However, reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has spilt the beans about the release clauses of Dybala in his contract, which might not come as happy news for Giallorossi fans.
Romano states that Dybala has two release clauses in his contract. One is for the Italian clubs who can sign him for €20 million in the summer, and the other one is worth €12 million exclusively to foreign clubs.
However, the clause pertaining to Italian clubs will become invalid if Roma increase his current salary from €3.8 million to €6 million.
But the real worry is the clubs abroad have a good chance to sign him in the summer.
From Barcelona to Manchester United, a handful of clubs were linked with Dybala last summer. Inter Milan appeared to be the frontrunner before Giallorossi snapped him up after Mourinho convinced him personally.
Many European giants will probably rekindle their interest in the Argentine star, especially after seeing his spectacular form with Giallorossi.
On the other hand, Roma will be hoping to keep hold of Dybala, who has repeatedly stated that he has been loving life at Stadio Olimpico.
Mourinho’s men suffered a 4-3 defeat against Sassuolo last night, during which Dybala came off the bench and scored in the second half.
The setback prevented them from potentially moving to second place in the Serie A rankings
