On Monday, Munich-based outlet TZ reported that PSV youngster Paul Wanner had decided to represent Austria rather than Germany at international level.
However, the 20-year-old dismissed these claims ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against his former club Bayern Munich.
“That’s not true. I haven’t made a decision yet. The time will come; until then, I’ll keep doing my best. Right now, I’m only focusing on PSV,” Wanner said.
Speaking about facing Bayern with his new club, Wanner told Sport Bild last week:
“It won’t be an ordinary match – I’ll be seeing former teammates and familiar faces.
“We know Bayern are currently one of the best teams in the world. But we also have quality: we want to challenge them and try to beat them at home. In any case, I’m really looking forward to this match.”
