Paris Saint-Germain have tabled an offer to sign Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, according to RMC SPORT.
Just a few days after securing their first-ever Champions League trophy, PSG are already working on reinforcing their squad ahead of the Club World Cup.
Sporting director Luis Campos is reportedly in England at the moment as the French champions seek to move fast to wrap up their first signing of the summer.
PSG are also working on a deal to sign another unnamed Premier League player.
A move for Zabarnyi would align with PSG’s recent strategy of investing in young, high-potential talents, which has become the new trend at the Parc des Princes.
Since joining Bournemouth from Dynamo Kyiv for £24 million in 2023, the 22-year-old has become a mainstay in the Cherries’ defence.
Teaming up with Dean Huijsen, Zabarnyi formed one of the Premier League’s best centre-back pairings en route to a ninth-place finish last time out and now looks set to also be rewarded with a big move.
The Ukraine international is contracted to Bournemouth until 2029 and is expected to command a transfer fee of around £45m.
Having recently sold Huijsen to Real Madrid, Bournemouth are understandably reluctant to let go of another first-choice centre-back but may ultimately be unable to resist PSG’s advances.
Bournemouth are also negotiating with Liverpool for the sale of Milos Kerkez, who is set to be part of a mass exodus from the Vitality Stadium this summer.
