Sevilla and Papu Gómez are in talks over terminating the player’s contract, as reported by Relevo.
The forward has not been part of head coach José Luis Mendilibar’s plans, but his economic demands have made it difficult for him to find a new club. In the last few hours, Sevilla and the playmaker have come closer to ending his contract.
Papu has one year left on his contract in the Andalusian capital and would be free to sign for another team. Talks will continue, with the idea that he can find a new club to play for.
His spell at the club wasn’t what he or the Europa League winners would have expected. If an agreement is reached, Gómez will put an end to his time in Nervión, after arriving in the 2020-21 winter window.
