Lukas Kwasniok has flirted with the idea of taking over the reins at Schalke 04 once the current season ends.
Journalists questioned the SC Paderborn head coach at his latest press conference, to which his replies were telling of his interest.
“No, why should I rule it [managing Schalke] out? That would be a complete lie. They are a big, fantastic and attractive club.
“If they are interested, however, we’ll have to present a lot of positive arguments. We are by no means that far along,” he added.
Kwasniok and Paderborn have already agreed to part ways in summer, with other clubs like VfL Wolfsburg, TSG Hoffenheim and SV Hamburger also interested.
