Paddy Pimblett doesn’t seem to anticipate much resistance when he gets his hands on Justin Gaethje at the UFC 324 event on the 24th of January in Las Vegas as he made a bold prediction for their lightweight fight.
Pimblett, a Brit with a fervent fan-base, has been on a tear since joining UFC from Cage Warriors as he’s seven in succession with breakout performances over Tony Ferguson, King Green, and Michael Chandler, of late. It all leads him to the biggest test of his career so far when he stands opposite Gaethje, who rebounded from a brutal, buzzer-beating knockout loss to Max Holloway in 2024 by out-pointing Rafael Fiziev over five-threes, earlier this year. The American will hope to keep that momentum alive in the new year.
And, speaking to Coin Poker, Pimblett made a number of predictions — each one bolder than the last.

Paddy Pimblett’s Bold Prediction For Justin Gaethje Fight at UFC 324
“Someone’s getting finished! One hundred percent [it’s a fight that’s] not going to [the] judges.” Pimblett said.
The 30-year-old may have a point. After all, of his 23 wins, seven have been by knockout and 10 have been by submission. Gaethje, too, is arguably even more known for his finishing instinct as he has 20 knockouts and one submission from 26 wins. This could, quite easily, become a blink-and-you-miss-it type of event.
“I’m feeling great. I can’t wait,” Pimblett added. “Gaethje is a legend and to be able to share the cage with him is an honor.”
“But that all gets put to one side when I actually get in the cage with him, and I have to put a beat down on him.”
Pimblett Expects to Finish Gaethje
The first loss of Gaethje’s career came in 2017 when Eddie Alvarez finished him with a knee strike. In the very next fight, Dustin Poirier put him away with punches. Since then, Khabib Nurmagomedov bettered him with a triangle choke, Charles Oliveira submitted him with a rear-naked choke, and Holloway scored the last-gasp knockout, last year.
Now, Pimblett anticipates being the sixth person to knock him out, or make him tap. “I’m [going to] beat Gaethje,” he said.
Victory over Gaethje would earn him an interim title due to Ilia Topuria’s absence, but he then vowed to unify the titles as he continues to pursue a bitter bout with his long-time rival.
