Popular UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett has named an England star among the two footballers he’d love to fight, going one step further by claiming he ‘hates them’ and would ‘love to knock them out.’
The Baddy was answering a hypothetical question when revealing his picks, opting for two players competing in the Champions League this season.
Having previously named the one fighter he’d refuse to face, the 31-year-old, who is among the highest-paid UFC fighters, has now turned the tables by answering a question about the opposite.
Pimblett has not fought since July, when he extended his undefeated record to 28 bouts by forcing Benoit Saint-Denis into submission just 52 seconds into the first round at UFC 329.
While the fighting world awaits his return, he has named two footballers, both well-known among Premier League fans, as dream opponents. He said (watch the full segment below):
“Bruno Fernandes or Trent Alexander-Arnold. I hate the pair of them, I’d love to knock them out.”
As a passionate Liverpool fan himself, it comes as no surprise that Pimblett named Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes first.
Meanwhile, there is clearly still no love lost between him and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has struggled for form since forcing a move to Real Madrid two summers ago on a free transfer.
When Could The Baddy Return to the Octagon?
The Baddy has already lifted the lid on his potential return to the Octagon earlier this October. An end-of-year return was predicted for the Baddy following his flawless victory in Sin City, but he has revealed that won’t be the case, telling iFL TV, as per The Sun:
“It’ll probably be next year now, so I can get fat over Christmas. Loads of scran over the next couple of days and weeks. I’ll enjoy my Christmas dinner and then get back into camp.”
Next Generation MMA standout Pimblett is now eyeing a spring return to the octagon. He told All Out Fighting: “If I don’t fight before the end of the year, it’ll be March or April.”
Pimblett’s comments on his return came a few weeks after company boss Dana White publicly admitted he liked the Liverpudlian’s recent proposal for his next fight as he proposed a grudge match with former two-weight world champion Ilia Topuria.
