Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch Looks Completely Different in Prison

From the most popular WWE diva during the 1990s to spending the next 13 years behind bars, Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch really has suffered a huge fall from grace.

During her four-year spell with the company, Sunny performed as the manager of several Superstars and tag teams, including her partner Chris Candido, Farooq and the Legion of Doom.

She was a fan favourite for the majority of her run in the WWE (WWF at the time), as her blonde hair and attractive appearance caught the eye. However, things haven’t gone smoothly in the past decade or so.

WWE Hall of Famer Behind Bars

Sunny was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 after making sporadic appearances on television in the years prior. Since then, however, the New Jersey-born performer has faced significant struggles.

She has been arrested several times since 2012, for charges including disorderly conduct, breaking protective orders and third-degree burglary. The ex-WWE diva was even detained for unlawfully possessing a weapon and making terroristic threats.

Other arrests included incidents where Sytch was behind the wheel of a car. The most devastating came in March 2022.

Witnesses told police that Sytch was driving at high speed when she crashed into another car that was stopped at a stoplight. The collision proved to be fatal, as a 75-year-old man was killed.

DUI and manslaughter-related charges were brought against her when toxicology reports found Sytch’s blood alcohol level to be over four times above the legal limit.

In late 2023, Sytch was sent to prison for 17 and a half years, with a further eight on probation, after she pleaded no contest in August to driving under the influence and causing death.

“The defendant’s history of drinking and driving is horrendous. She was Death On Wheels,” Florida State Atty. R.J. Larizza said in a statement (per LA Times). “It was only a matter of time before her drunk driving killed an innocent and unsuspecting individual.”

Julian LaFrancis Lasseter, who was in the car Sytch crashed into, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle was pushed into another car.

Sunny Looked Completely Different to Her WWE Days

Images from her court appearances surfaced online at the time of the trial. Almost 30 years had passed since her debut on the wrestling scene, but many people commented on how different Sunny looked.

Most notably, ‘the original WWE diva’ no longer has her famous blonde hair. See what she looked like in 2023, two decades after her first WWE appearance.

Now 53 years old, Sytch will be approaching her 70th birthday by the time she gets out of prison in 2039. An appeal to reduce her sentence was rejected, meaning she will serve the full term.
