Ousmane Dembélé: The World’s Most Creative Player

Despite receiving lots of criticism for failing to find the back of the net at Paris Saint-Germain, Ousmane Dembélé (26) is excelling in another part of his game at the Parc des Princes. Since making the summer switch from Barcelona to the French capital, the France international has been the most creative player in the world.

Figures released by the CIES show that the former Barcelona forward is creating the most chances in the world this season and is, therefore, “Europe’s best creator”. Dembélé is playing an average of 2.45 key passes per 90 this season – a number which no player in Europe can top. The 26-year-old is also generating 0.27 expected assists per 90.

Dembélé has four assists to his name in a PSG shirt this season but is yet to find himself on the scoresheet for his new club. The forward is clear in the metric as being Europe’s most creative player with Leroy Sané being his closest competitor. The PSG forward’s closest compatriot is his club and international teammate Kylian Mbappé who ranks fourth in the list.
