Two members of the Barcelona loan army are set to be integrated into the Blaugrana’s first-team squad for the 2024/25 campaign.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have this afternoon provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
The Spanish outlet point towards two current members of Xavi’s ranks as being all set to bid farewell to Barcelona in the summer.
Upon the expiration of their respective contracts, Marcos Alonso and Serbi Roberto will not be offered renewals, in turn primed to move on as free agents.
This will open up a spot on each side of Barca’s backline, with the aforementioned MD having confirmed that the Blaugrana brass already have a plan in place when it comes to those primed to act as reinforcements.
Loan pair Álex Valle and Julián Araujo, it is understood, will be afforded the chance to impress as part of the defensive ranks at the disposal of the yet-to-be-named new head coach at the Camp Nou next season.
Full-backs Valle and Araujo have enjoyed altogether productive respective stints away from Catalunya this season, the former with Levante, and latter with Las Palmas.
With Alejandro Balde and João Cancelo already pencilled in as Barcelona’s two starting full-backs for 2024/25, Valle and Araujo will therefore return to act as backup, with a view to potential starting berths down the line.
