- Marmoush transfer links: Tottenham are reportedly weighing up a swoop for the Manchester City star to address their shortage of goals. The Egypt international is allegedly open to a loan move to north London to secure more regular playing time.
- Previous links: Spurs have been linked with Marmoush previously, as ex-player Mido famously urged the club to sign him – before he joined City in 2025. With Marmoush currently on the fringes of Pep Guardiola’s squad, a January deal is seen as a cost-effective solution for Tottenham.
- Compatibility with Spurs: Former Spurs star Mido stated that Marmoush would be a ‘great signing’ who would ‘fit in perfectly’ at the club. He specifically highlighted that the player’s work-rate and versatility as a winger or striker would suit the club’s tactical system.
- Spurs’ attacking injury crisis: The squad is currently navigating a ‘full-blown’ injury crisis with several key forwards and creative players side-lined. England’s James Maddison is out for the season with an ACL tear, while Mohammed Kudus is unavailable until April, owing to a significant quad injury. Richarlison is also out with a hamstring issue and isn’t expected back until March. Thar leaves Thomas Frank with a void in central and wide attacking positions during a critical run of fixtures.

- Surplus of talents: City now have eight top options to play around Erling Haaland. This immense depth has led the club to consider offloading fringe players like Oscar Bobb and Marmoush before the January window closes.
- On his impact and quality: Pep Guardiola has labelled Marmoush a ‘special player’ whose ability to make ‘extraordinary’ runs in behind is a unique weapon for the team. He specifically credited the forward’s contributions last season as instrumental in City securing Champions League qualification and reaching the FA Cup final.
- Contract details: Marmoush currently earns a reported wage of £295,000 per week at City, positioning him among the club’s top earners, alongside players like Bernardo Silva. The Egyptian forward signed a long-term deal – through to 2029 – following his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025.
