Kicker Magazine’s Oliver Bitter reports that, having not rejoined his colleagues for Monday’s training session, Dani Olmo likely won’t be an option for this coming weekend’s showdown with FC Bayern München.

Like league-leaders Bayern München, DFL Supercup winners RB Leipzig must play a catch-up match midweek as part of the opening round of Germany’s domestic cup. The German Red Bulls are scheduled to fly to Frankfurt on Wednesday to play 2. Bundesliga side SV Wehhen Wiesbaden. After that, a league showdown with FC Bayern München themselves awaits next Saturday night.
The latest on the status of Spanish attacker Dani Olmo’s knee sprain – according to Oliver Bitter of Germany’s preeminent footballing publication at least – is that the 25-year-old will remain out for both the forthcoming league and cup tie. Bitter bases this information on the fact that Olmo was absent from Monday’s training session entirely. Presumably, the versatile attacker may be available for RB’s Champions’ League fixture against Man City next week.
