Spanish sports daily “Mundo Deportivo” is currently reporting that the injury forcing RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo to depart the Spanish national team’s camp may sideline the talismanic attacker for three to four weeks.

Spanish attacker Dani Olmo of RB Leipzig has departed Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish national team camp with what was initially reported to be a knee contusion. Spanish sports daily “Mundo Deportivo” nevertheless now reports that the 25-year-old has suffered a high degree knee sprain. Such an injury could sideline Olmo for a month or more.
After scoring a hat trick against Bayern in the DFL Supercup, Olmo continued to exhibit fine form in the initial stages of the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign. The 32-times-capped international got his name on the scoresheet in all three of Leipzig’s league fixtures. Olmo netted a goal against Leverkusen on matchday one, scored again against Stuttgart in round two, and registered an assist against Union Berlin last Sunday.
