OGC Nice suffer fresh injury blow to key player

It hasn’t been an easy start to the season for OGC Nice. In pre-season, Terem Moffi sustained an ACL injury that will likely rule him out for much of the campaign, whilst Jérémie Boga and Morgan Sanson have both missed the start of the campaign having sustained injuries in pre-season. Those are some key players to be missing.

Gaëtan Laborde suffered a fractured metatarsal in training ahead of gameweek two in Ligue 1 and is expected to be absent for a couple of months too. Now, Hicham Boudaoui (24) has succumbed to injury. The Algerian midfielder has quickly established himself as a key figure under Franck Haise and was once again impressive in the 4-1 win over SCO Angers last weekend.

However, it was revealed post-match that he was playing through pain after suffering an injury just before half-time. Tests undergone on Monday revealed that he had suffered sprained internal lateral ligaments on his left knee. Boudaoui will therefore be out for several weeks, in what is another blow for Haise and Nice.
