Greece international Vasilios Lampropoulos has extended his contract with Bochum until 2025.
The defender’s previous contract was due to expire in 2023 but has now had an additional two years added.
Lampropoulos featured 13 times for Bochum last season as they navigated avoiding the relegation back to the 2. Bundesliga.
The Greek played all of his games in the first half of the season but remains a key part of Bochum’s plans for the future.
The club’s sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz said: “Vasilios Lampropoulos has proven that you can rely on him. He was part of our promotion squad and made his contribution to staying up in the league last season. Now he has the chance to add another to these successful chapters.” He also added that the team player is “a win for our team with his positive attitude.”
The player himself is also happy with the recent announcement: “I’m very happy that I was allowed to be part of this team. We have achieved a lot as a team.”
In addition to this, Lampropoulos may expect more playing time as his positional rival in the squad Maxim Leitsch is reportedly joining Mainz 05.
