Valencia have announced the signing of centre-back Cenk Özkacar from Ligue 1 club Lyon.
The 21-year-old joins Los Che on loan until 30 June 2023 with an option to buy.
The young defender signed for Lyon in 2021 from the Turkish second division and was loaned out to Belgian side OH Leuven last season to continue developing his game.
Last season Özkacar made 32 appearances and scored two goals from defence for OH Leuven.
“Cenk is a left-footed centre-back who will strengthen the team’s defensive line and help consolidate the identity and style of play of Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia CF,” Valencia wrote in a club statement on Tuesday.
Samu Castillejo arrived at Mestalla as a free agent after terminating his contract with AC Milan.
Samuel Lino, Nico González and Özkacar all arrive on loan, so Valencia, who sold Guedes for €32 million to Wolves, have not spent on transfers this summer.
