Napoli have finally confirmed the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.
It is understood that the Frenchman has joined the Italian club on a €1 million loan deal with an option to buy worth €30 million.
Since moving to Spurs from Lyon for a transfer fee of around €60 million in 2019, the midfielder has failed to replicate his best form, gradually losing his value at the Premier League club. Having failed to break into Antonio Conte’s side, Ndombele returned to Lyon on a six-month loan in the January transfer window of 2022.
The 25-year-old made 11 appearances on his return to Ligue 1. Following the loan spell, he re-joined Spurs earlier in the summer. However, staying with the Londoners was never an option for Ndombele, with Napoli being tempted by the idea of landing the midfield maestro.
He may not have reached his potential at the Premier League, but Serie A will give him a renewed shot at revival, as it has done for numerous Premier League strugglers in recent times.
