St. Pauli have strengthened their forward line with the signing of Johannes Eggestein (24) from Royal Antwerp.
Last season, Eggestein made 18 appearances in the Belgium Pro League as well as six Europa League matches.
Eggestein has previously played in Germany’s top flight with Werder Bremen where he made 46 league appearances for the side.
The former German U21 international said: “I am happy to be back in Northern Germany. The talks with those responsible at St. Pauli and the sporting concept quickly convinced me. I’ve been observing the way the club is going for a long time and now I want to do everything I can to bring St. Paul forward.”
St. Pauli head coach was also delighted with the move as he explained: “Johannes is an effective striker with a range of key skills and international experience. He will give us more options and variation in our attacking play. I’m delighted to welcome him to the squad and pleased that the competition for places up front is hotting up.”
It was crucial for Pauli to add to their forward line having just sold Daniel-Kofi Kyereh to Bundesliga club Freiburg.
