PSG left-back Juan Bernat (31) has been loaned out to La Liga side Villarreal, both clubs have announced. The Spaniard was entering his final contract year with Paris Saint-Germain and was deemed surplus to requirements by Les Parisiens, so much so that his #14 jersey has been handed to Désiré Doué. Bernat was signed by the Ligue 1 champions from Bayern Munich six years ago and he will therefore leave the French capital as a free agent next June.
Bernat already spent the previous season on loan, at SL Benfica. Over five years in the French capital, Bernat logged eight goals and 15 assists in 128 appearances. The 11-time Spain international will wear the #12 jersey with the Yellow Submarine.
