Bayer Leverkusen have today announced the contract extension of Patrik Schick by a further two years until 2027.
Sporting director Simon Rolfes spoke about their star-studded striker: “Patrik Schick played a fantastic season and demonstrated absolute world class in his position. There are only a few centre forwards of his stature internationally.”
Having scored 24 goals in 27 Bundesliga games this season, it’s a clear statement of intent from Bayer who are possibly hoping that both Schick and Adam Hložek can play alongside each other next term. The duo already play together with their national team so a connection for their domestic club isn’t a far-fetched idea.
It was reported yesterday by Sport1 that Hložek would join B04 for a reported €22m.
