Reigning Serie A Champions Napoli have now confirmed that manager Rudi Garcia has been sacked from his position as manager.
The Partenopei lost 1-0 to Empoli yesterday and that game was going to decide the Frenchman’s future. The loss left Garcia’s position untenable, weeks after the same had happened during the previous international break.
But now, the club have confirmed that Garcia is no longer the club’s manager, only months after his arrival. He had replaced Luciano Spalletti rather abruptly in the summer, but the stint has been full of inconsistent moments.
Napoli are fourth in the table but are already ten points away from league leaders Inter and it is considered a rather disappointing defence of the club’s third Serie A title win. In his 12 matches as manager, Garcia has won only six games at Napoli, losing four times and drawing only two games.
Igor Tudor is seen as the replacement and the Croatian could be handed over control soon.
