Olympique de Marseille have officially announced the signing of Anderlecht right-back Michael Murillo (27) on a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old Panama international is expected to bring competition to France international Jonathan Clauss at right-back. L’Équipe understands that Les Phocéens and Anderlecht have reached an agreement over a transfer fee ranging from €2m to €3m. Murillo has logged six goals and five assists in 45 games played with the Belgian team this past campaign. He was part of the Anderlecht squad that went all the way to the Europa Conference League’s quarter-finals.

Murillo will wear the #62 jersey with Olympique de Marseille. The Ligue 1 club is conducting a full-scale revamp of the squad this summer transfer window. Murillo is the seventh signing of the Marcelino era at Marseille, after Geoffrey Kondogbia, Renan Lodi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Iliman N’Diaye, Ismaïla Sarr and Joaquin Correa. Marseille are currently second in the league after taking seven points out of a possible nine. Unfortunately, their start of the season has been marred by their early exit in the third qualifying round of the Champions League against Panathinaikos.
