Olympique de Marseille have officially confirmed the departure of highly-rated midfielder Darryl Bakola, who joins Serie A side US Sassuolo Calcio.
As reported earlier, the 18-year-old leaves Marseille in a deal worth around €10m, marking one of OM’s most significant academy sales in recent years.
Bakola joined Marseille’s academy in 2022 from Red Star FC and has been considered one of the club’s brightest youth prospects. During the current season, the French midfielder made 12 appearances across competitions for the first team.
In a statement published on the club’s official website, OM wished Bakola well, confirming his permanent transfer to Sassuolo as he begins the next chapter of his career in Italy.
