LFP Media have officially announced that they have reached an agreement with DAZN to end their dispute as part of their mediation process. The terms of this agreement has not yet been disclosed by either party.
A mediation process was established following a dispute in February over a withheld payment. DAZN initially refused to pay Ligue 1 clubs €35 million after they reportedly grew frustrated with the league not allocating enough resources in the fight against piracy, while certain clubs were accused of not participating fully in content creation.
Reports emerged that the broadcaster was looking to cancel their contract, and on the 30th of April, DAZN confirmed to L’Équipe that they had reached an agreement with the LFP to end their broadcasting contract a year into a five-year cycle. The British broadcaster will pay €100 million to break the contract, as well as the final two payments for this season, worth €140 million.
