AJ Auxerre have confirmed that Lassine Sinayoko (26) has extended his contract with the club until 2027. The Malian international forward’s contract with the Ligue 1 club was set to expire at the end of the season before a new contract was signed.
Despite his deal coming to an end, the 26-year-old never wanted to leave his formative club on a free transfer. The forward would like to experience an opportunity elsewhere at a higher level, but was firm in his stance that L’AJA should receive a transfer fee for his services rather than leaving for nothing. n
Sinayoko to leave in the summer?
With the forward only signing a one-year extension, signs point towards the striker leaving his boyhood club in the not-too-distant future. The lack of a long-term agreement suggests that Sinayoko has a gentleman’s agreement with Auxerre that he can leave the club in the summer after agreeing not to depart on a free transfer.
