Official | Kevin-Prince Boateng signs Hertha Berlin contract extension

Hertha Berlin have today announced the contract extension of Kevin-Prince Boateng until 2023.

“The relegation play-off proved to us just how important Prince is for our team and he didn’t show it just then. He’s our leader, getting stuck in and pushing everyone along with him. We’ll need players just like that next season,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic.

Boateng added: “I’ve always said how special and valuable this club is to me and tried to show it both off and on the pitch. I feel good, I’m hungry to get going and excited to keep going forward with the lads.”

Boateng re-joined the Bundesliga side from Monza last summer on a one-year deal. The now 35-year-old played 693 minutes across 18 Bundesliga games but failed to score as Hertha finished the season in 16th, winning their play-off game over two legs against Hamburg.

The former Ghana international has played 146 games in the Bundesliga during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke and Hertha Berlin.
