The reported transfer of Young Boys Bern attacker Wilfried Kanga to Germany’s Charlottenburg capital city side went through quickly on Saturday. The 24-year-old signed a contract with Hertha BSC through 2026. As of yet, there is no official confirmation on the transfer fee. Both Sky Germany and German football magazine Kicker can only report that the player–estimated worth some €2.2 million in the latest transfermarkt listings–cost “die alte Dame” less than €5 million.
“We are very pleased to have succeeded in making Wilfried Kanga a Herthaner,” club sporting CEO Fredi Bobic remarked in a statement accompanying the signing, “With his size, physical presence, speed, and eye-for-goal. we are getting a striker who fits very well with the kind of football we want to bring to the pitch.”
“Hertha is the club that wanted me the most and made me feel needed here,” Kanga himself added, “This is a great club that offers me all the conditions to develop further.”
