Villarreal have announced the signing of José Luis Morales on a two-year deal.
The former Levante captain has played in seven top-flight campaigns, scoring 63 goals in 254 games.
His 13 goals last season were not enough to keep the Valencia-based club in Spain’s top flight. Morales played 36 of the side’s 38 league games in the 2021-22 campaign.
In 2013-14, he won the Segunda División with Basque club Eibar, before he went on to sign for Levante. He also helped Levante to promotion to the top flight in 2016-17.
Morales arrives at Villarreal after a tough departure from his former club Levante.
The forward from Madrid joins Unai Emery’s side with the idea of looking for a new challenge in the latter stage of his career.
Having already passed his medical, the La Liga club have announced that he will be presented once the team’s pre-season starts on 4 July.
