Borussia Mönchengladbach have today announced the contract extension of Jonas Hofmann (30) until 2025, with an option to extend by a further season.
“Jonas has become one of the faces of the team during the six and a half years with us,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “He has undergone tremendous development here, first to become a regular starter and leader for us, and then also cementing himself within the Germany national team. We are very happy that we have been able to convince Jonas to remain at Borussia.”
Since joining Borussia Mönchengladbach from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 for €8m, Hofmann has played 182 games across all competitions, scoring 36 and creating 40.
Last season under Adi Hütter, the attacking-midfielder enjoyed his best goalscoring return in the Bundesliga to date, scoring 12 alongside his five assists. Across all competitions last season, Hofmann was involved, on average, in every third goal that Borussia scored.
