Olympique de Marseille have confirmed the departure of François Mughe (20) on loan to Athens Kallithea. The Greek side will have an option to make the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee.
Mughe has had a difficult time at Marseille since arriving at the club in 2022 from EF Brasseries, an academy based in the winger’s home country of Cameroon. Last season promised to be a breakthrough campaign for Mughe under head coach Marcelino.
However, when the Spaniard walked away early into the campaign following some exceptional circumstances, Mughe saw his pathway to the first team dry up. Last January, the winger was allowed to leave on loan for Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque.
The experience in the second tier was quite forgettable for the youngster as he suffered an injury which saw his game time limited to just five games in total. Mughe will hope that fresh scenery in the Greek Super Leauge will help him refind his footing.
