Espanyol have announced the signing of Joselu. The 32-year-old joins on a free transfer after finishing his contract at Alavés.
Joselu started out at Celta and went on to play for Real Madrid Castilla, making his debut with the first team in 2010-11.
He then moved to Germany and had spells with Hoffenheim (2012-13), Eintracht Frankfurt (2013-14) and Hannover 96 (2014-15).
The striker played for English side Stoke City in 2016-17 before joining Deportivo La Coruña. He then played for Newcastle until the 2018-19 campaign before ending up at Alavés, where he played with the Basque club for three seasons, scoring 11 goals in his first two seasons and 14 in the 2021-22 campaign.
The Spanish forward becomes Espanyol’s second signing of the summer, following the signing of Brian Oliván from Mallorca.
The Catalan club continue to build their squad under new manager Diego Martínez ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
