Ahead of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, Borussia Mönchengladbach have announced the contract extension of 29-year-old French attacker Alassane Pléa until 2025 plus a one-year option.
“Alassane is now going into his fifth season with us,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “The fact that he has been our top scorer across the past four seasons shows how valuable he is to the team. With his technical ability, his quality finishing and his versatility in attack, he is also an important element for the kind of football we want to play. We’re delighted that Alassane is convinced by our vision and sees his future at Borussia.”
Linked with a return to former side OGC Nice, Pléa signs an extension after scoring 10 and creating eight in 33 Bundesliga games last season. And following the departure of Breel Embolo, the Frenchman will be a key catalyst in this Borussia side again.
Since joining the club in July 2018, Pléa has scored 47 and created 30 across 143 games in all competitions for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
