Sky Germany have confirmed reports from Turkey that former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin will return to the club as Edin Terzic’s new assistant manager.
Sahin had been the coach of Turkish side Antalyaspor in a somewhat successful spell at the club which sees them sit five points off of the European places. The club has already confirmed Sahin’s departure to Dortmund.
It is reported that the analysis meeting after the 1-1 draw with Mainz concluded that Terzic would be given a competent coach behind him to help. It has previously been reported that several players are unhappy with how Terzic has set up the team and believe he is not a good manager.
What is worth noting is that Sahin will not replace Terzic as manager in the summer if he is eventually sacked.
Across three spells at Dortmund, Sahin made 274 appearances for the club and was a part of the squad that won the first of two Bundesliga titles under Jürgen Klopp.
