Nottingham Forest set to sign Union’s Awoniyi

According to The Telegraph, Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi is close to joining Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest are said to be on the verge of sealing a deal to sign Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin.


According to The Telegraph, the newly-promoted Premier League side are in advanced talks over a €20 million deal for the Nigerian striker, who has an exit clause in his deal.

After a succesful loan spell in the German capital, Awoniyi joined Union Berlin permanently from Liverpool for €6.5 million a year ago.

He enjoyed an impressive 2021/22 season, finding the net 15 times in 31 matches in the German top flight.
