Hamburger Morgenpost cites Daily Mail suggesting that Norwich City are interested in Tim Walter as a replacement for departed manager Dean Smith.
Other managers on their list include Chris Wilder and David Wagner, formerly of Schalke. It is doubtful that Walter will move to Norwich with a contract extension at Hamburg appearing more likely.
Walter arrived at Hamburg in 2021 and in his first season they finished third which resulted in them playing in the relegation play-off, but HSV came up short against Hertha Berlin despite winning the first leg. This season Hamburg find themselves in second place, two points off of leaders Darmstadt. They begin the second half of the season against Eintracht Braunschweig as they look to achieve promotion at the fifth time of asking.
Norwich have previously hired German coaches before with Daniel Farke, now of Borussia Mönchengladbach, helping them gain promotion from the Championship to the Premier League several times.
