It’s now clear that Christopher Nkunku completed a secret medical with Chelsea before a potential transfer next summer. Bild reports that the €60 million release clause in his contract, which was incorporated into his Leipzig extension this summer, is only valid for a move to a club outside of Germany.
This could display that Nkunku is determined to take the next step of his career at a club not in the Bundesliga. It’s also reported that Bayern contacted Leipzig about the 24-year-old, but were told about this clause in his contract.
A transfer to the Premier League is looking more and more likely after the season.
