After a six-week break, Christopher Nkunku is set to return to the RB Leipzig squad for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.

Nkunku tore his lateral ligament in November and was rushed back to action in early March.

The Frenchman is now fit again, but will be limited to 20-25 minutes on the pitch tomorrow.

“He is making a good impression in training. The last injury was something we were all worried about. But he’s not giving the impression in training that he’s thinking about it now,” said Rose at a press conference today.

Konrad Laimer is also fit after shaking off a knock, Mohamed Simakan is a doubt, while Emil Forsberg (illness) and Yussuf Poulsen (calf) were ruled out by Rose.

Xaver Schlager has been back in Leipzig since Thursday following syndesmosis surgery and has already been training with the ball. If all goes according to plan, he could play a role in the final part of the season.
