RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has confirmed that Christopher Nkunku will miss the club’s first three Bundesliga games of 2023 due to injury.
Rose added that he hopes Nkunku will recover from the knee injury he suffered just before the World Cup in time for Leipzig’s Champions League last-16 first leg clash against Manchester City on February 22.
“Christopher Nkunku will not be there in our first, second and third game. Hopefully, we will not be without him in the Champions League,” Rose told Sky Germany.
Nkunku has scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 29 games for Leipzig this season.
