Alexander Nübel’s loan spell at VfB Stuttgart expires in the summer. The Swabian club would like to keep the FC Bayern loanee beyond the summer, but it’s not certain that will be possible.
Therefore, Stuttgart are looking for potential alternatives and have previously been linked with Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega and Nottingham Forest’s Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Sky Germany now reports that Gladbach’s Moritz Nicolas has emerged as a top candidate.
Nicolas has filled in for Jonas Omlin this season, but will most likely have to settle for the bench now that the Swiss international is fit again.
Despite extending his contract until 2029 earlier this month, Nicolas is keen to move on in the summer if he’s not seen as Gladbach’s number one goalkeeper, according to Sky.
