Plenty of excitement has understandably coincided with the news that Todd Boehly’s consortium will complete its takeover of Chelsea imminently. Over the past couple of months, the club has been in nothing short of turmoil. The uncertainty has made life as a supporter horrible.
Transfer rumours are inevitable every summer, but when a club is taken over by an American billionaire? Well, they are bound to be even more prominent.
Even the most sensational – and what seems unlikely – of rumours appear. Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain? Well, that’s about as sensational as you can possibly get.

£118.5million Neymar cost PSG back in 2017 from Barcelona. Back then, it wasn’t even a fee that raised too many eyebrows because of the clear talent the Brazilian has. He still does, of course, but the thought of him coming to Chelsea has supporters on social media divided.
Many are massively excited that the links are even a thing, while a number of others are warning their club about going anywhere near the Brazil international. If you’re excited or not, the move does seem unlikely right now – and even more so when taking into consideration what he said about the Premier League last year and why it doesn’t necessarily appeal to him as much as others.
“I do not get to watch a lot of the Premier League, but I have heard that there’s a lot of physical contact involved in the game,” Neymar told the Daily Mail last year. “But the French league also has too much physical contact!”
Neymar is the type of player that gets fouled virtually every time he touches the ball. The tricky nature of his play style means that defenders have no option other than kicking the speedy Brazilian. He’s Eden Hazard-like in that respect.
GOAL are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are ‘not against selling’ Neymar over the upcoming summer transfer window if the ‘right bid’ arrives their way. The 30-year-old still has around three years remaining on his current contract at the Parc des Princes.
The feeling appears not to be mutual, though, with Neymar recently insisting that he is happy in Paris and wants to stay put for the time being. He told OhMyGoal: “It’s very true on my side that I want to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
“Afterwards, no one has said anything to me. On my side, it’s clear that I want to stay here at PSG.”
