Newcastle United Make Contact to Sign Palmeiras Star Allan

Newcastle United have made contact over a potential move for Palmeiras attacking midfielder Allan, as the Brazilian club continue to field significant interest following the player’s breakout season, according to Eduardo Burgos. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents in South America, with Premier League and Serie A clubs closely monitoring his situation ahead of the summer window.

While Palmeiras remain keen to retain him for now, Newcastle are among the clubs positioning themselves early should the situation change. The young star, described as a ‘diamond’, is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the world, but Newcastle could face plenty of competition for his signature.

Burgos reports that Palmeiras have already rejected an opening offer from Napoli worth €30 million plus €5m in add-ons, underlining both the level of interest and the club’s firm stance. Allan has attracted enquiries from more than half a dozen clubs since the end of last season, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa both registering interest from the Premier League, alongside several Italian sides.

Palmeiras renewed Allan’s contract last summer until December 2029 and included a release clause close to €100m, designed to deter early European approaches. The club’s position is clear: unless an “irresistible” offer arrives, Allan is expected to remain in Brazil at least through the upcoming Club World Cup, which is viewed internally as a crucial showcase for the left-footed midfielder.

Newcastle’s interest is understood to be part of wider long-term planning, with the club continuing to identify emerging talents capable of developing into key first-team options. While no formal bid has been submitted, contact has been made to assess availability and conditions, with the Magpies aware that any deal would likely be pushed towards later in the year.

Why Allan fits Newcastle’s long-term recruitment model

Allan’s rise has been rapid. His performances in the Brazilian top flight and on the world stage have placed him firmly on the radar of elite clubs, while the Brazilian Football Confederation has tracked his progress closely, including him in multiple preliminary national team squads. Although he is yet to make his senior debut, consistent minutes and exposure remain central to his ambitions.

Those close to the player, including his representatives at Talents Sports, believe remaining at Palmeiras for another six months offers the best balance between development and visibility. A move is expected to be revisited after the Club World Cup, a timeline Newcastle are understood to be comfortable with as they assess midfield options across multiple windows.

Napoli’s interest remains significant, but Financial Fair Play constraints are thought to limit their ability to move beyond €40m. That dynamic could open the door for Premier League clubs should Palmeiras soften their stance later in the year.

For Newcastle, Allan represents a profile that aligns with their recruitment strategy: young, technically gifted, and capable of adapting to the Premier League over time. While an immediate move appears unlikely, early contact places the Magpies firmly in the conversation as one of the clubs to watch when Allan’s future is revisited.
