Newcastle United and Chelsea lead the race for Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot

Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Chelsea are leading the race to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.

According to a report from journalist Marco Guidi in La Gazzetta dello Sport, clubs like Chelsea and Newcastle are in pursuit for the French midfielder after he confessed in a press conference during the World Cup — “It’s the most suitable league for me.”

The Juventus man will become a free agent this summer and therefore is eligible to negotiate with any team from January without any action from his present team. The player’s mother-cum-agent Veronique is expected to negotiate till the bitter end as she strives for the best financial offer from any club, and this is the reason that only clubs with huge resources can afford the player.

Despite Juventus’ legal and economic problems, manager Massimiliano Allegri has always supported the player and wants him to become a key member of the team in the future. The Serie A giants are currently studying an offer of Rabiot’s similar contract of €7 million euros net with the prospect of a bonus of €1 million if certain terms are met. The Bianconeri are also willing to pay the Frenchman a signing bonus but it is left to be discussed.

Rabiot currently has no offer on the table now as clubs will have to set up favourable terms for the player in form of Champions League football, salary, signing bonus and other factors before securing his services.
