A winter transfer for Newcastle United’s Fabian Schär is possible, with the Bundesliga listed as a potential destination.
Enquiries from unnamed German clubs have already been made for the 33-year-old experienced centre-back.
His contract with the Magpies runs until 2026 and an extension of his contract is currently deemed very unlikely.
The Swiss defender is no stranger to the Bundesliga having made 30 appearances for TSG Hoffenheim between 2015 and 2017.
During that spell in the heart of the Sinsheim side’s rearguard, he chipped in with a solitary goal and an assist.
