Fabio Paratici is weighing up a move for Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, football.london understands. Signed from Nice in August 2019, the attacker has made a huge impression in the Premier League following a number of standout performances for the Magpies.
With Tottenham in need of reinforcements to help take Antonio Conte’s squad to the next level as they look to compete at the top of the Premier League and go far in the Champions League, Saint-Maximin would certainly boost the Italian head coach’s attacking options. football.london understands Paratici is known to be a big admirer of the player, who chipped in with five goals and five assists in his 37 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle in 2021/22.
Mainly operating from the left wing, the 25-year-old also has experience of playing on the opposite flank and also in a central role. If Steven Bergwijn moves on as expected this summer with Dutch giants Ajax looking to bring the player back to his homeland, Spurs will need to strengthen their frontline as they will require cover for the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane.

Summer addition Ivan Perisic is also capable of playing in Tottenham’s front three, although he is expected to operate at left wing-back in Conte’s system and make a huge impact in the final third from that position. During his 93 appearances for Newcastle, Saint-Maximin has scored 12 goals and registered 16 assists.
Speaking at the start of May, the Frenchman opened up on his future at St James’ Park under Eddie Howe and indicated that he doesn’t see himself departing Tyneside ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
“To be honest, right now I don’t see myself leaving Newcastle,” he told Goal. “After that, there are a lot of things that can change. Several big clubs approached me for a future transfer.
“These are clubs that did not come for me when I was in Nice. Newcastle came at a very important time in my career. They gave me a lot of confidence. I am a very grateful person.
“That’s why, moreover, even at times when it could be very complicated for the club, like last season, I decided not to leave so that I had the chance. I feel good here.”
