Manuel Neuer will not recover from his injury in time for Bayern München’s DFB-Pokal clash with Augsburg on Wednesday.
The Bayern captain has missed two games in a row with an injury that is still troubling him.
“Manuel Neuer is still feeling some pain. We’re hoping he’ll be back for this weekend’s game against Hoffenheim, but will need to wait and see. It’s a delicate balance, and he needs to be able to make that call,” Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann told reporters at a press conference today.
Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt, while Leroy Sané is expected to be out for a number of weeks after sustaining a muscle injury in Sunday’s 5-0 victory over Augsburg.
“‘Nous’ is still dealing with some muscle issues. He will travel to Augsburg with us, but we will need to see tomorrow. Sané’s injury isn’t major, so I assume he will be out for around three weeks. We’ll have to wait and see how it heals,” said Nagelsmann.
