Manuel Neuer is making good progress in his recovery from the broken leg that has sidelined him since the winter.
However, Bayern’s next match against Bayer Leverkusen next Friday will come too soon for him, according to Abendzeitung.
According to the Munich-based publication, Neuer is likely to be back between the sticks for Bayern by the end of September.
Neuer, 37, recently returned to team training. Sven Ulreich has deputized for him in Bayern’s first handful of games this season.
