Negotiations between Real Betis and Lyon have reached a standstill as the two clubs are unable to come to an agreement over the transfer of Houssem Aouar, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
The Andalucían club are struggling to gather enough funds to make an offer that Lyon are willing to accept.
Lyon have named Aouar in the matchday squad that will face Ajaccio tonight in the opening game of the season.
Despite only having one year left on his contract and him showing no interest in renewing, the French side have set a €15 million price tag for the French international.
Real Betis are considering to table an offer around Lyon’s asking price, which would include William Carvalho valued at €8 million.
Los Verdiblancos are facing tough competition to secure the signature of Aouar, as reportedly teams playing in the Champions League are also interested in signing the 24-year-old from Lyon this summer.
