Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had a discussion with the entire PSG team at the team’s training session this morning, including coach Christophe Galtier, in the wake of the club’s recent struggles on and off the field. Galtier spoke today to the press about the conversation, acknowledging his own responsibility in the situation.
“I have my part of the responsibility, the coach and his staff, the players too,” said Galtier. “The questioning was about what we do once we acknowledge our responsibility. The president spoke this morning to everyone, not just the players. Obviously I feel the president’s speech concerns me too. It shows that we can’t go on like this. It was a pretty clear and precise speech for everyone, including myself.”
Galtier also spoke about the pressure he is currently facing and how he plans to move forward. “I, too, am working on the upcoming deadlines,” he said.
PSG have been under scrutiny in recent weeks due to a string of poor performances in Ligue 1 following a Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich, with off-pitch controversies being aplenty this season. Al-Khelaifi’s speech was an attempt to rally the team and address the issues that have been holding them back.
