Serie A giants Napoli have pretty much sealed the move for Brighton’s Billy Gilmour and are now making progress in their move for Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed that Napoli will close the move Gilmour today and the final details of the move with Brighton are being defined. This will not exclude the arrival of another midfielder and that would be McTominay himself.
In the meantime, Il Mattino (via CN24) have reported Napoli’s offer of €25 million has been accepted by United and that fee includes bonuses. The Scotsman has agreed to sign a four-year deal at the Partenopei and so has Gillmour too, but the midfielder will sign a five-year deal.
Whether there is a lot of truth behind the McTominay remains to be seen, but the fact that Di Marzio has revealed that the United man could still join is a positive sign and the report himself had recently stated that the €25 million bid was made.
Di Marzio had also suggested that the bid would probably not be enough and it is key to remember that Il Mattino can make some strange claims at times.
